FILM PHOTOGRAPHY

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Within this collection you will find images spanning from social observations to tokens of warn out memories. Despite the physical differences, there is a common theme of appretiation for the forgotten, and quiet beauty. I draw inspiration from personal and thought evoking people and places. In this specific collection you will notice a trend of personal, simple pictures. I really love the challenge of inviting the viewer into the moment the photo was taken, or making something that is able to make a statement.

I started film photography because I was facinated by the time and work that goes into each print, whereas in digital the result is immediate. I ended up falling in love with the necessary devotion every step of the way, from the all consuming issue of light to the painstaking removal of every spec of dust.

It is my hope that while browsing, you take a minute to appreciate the beauty of the world around us, and the soft spoken radiance of moments hidden in plain sight.

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.” -Ansel Adams
